I was very involved with the Vietnam War while I was president. I sent many advisors and troops to Vietnam during my time. while I was in office, I largely increased the amount of soldiers in Vietnam from 800, to around 16300. Some historians say that the outcome of the war could have changed if I served my full time in office.
I had plans of pulling troops out of Vietnam if I had been re-elected as president in 1964, there was much controversy on whether or not I was going to, but before anything could be set, I was assassinated. The following President, Lyndon B. Johnson, reversed my plan to withdraw 1,000 personnel on November 26, 1963.
